"Iron Dome" once again a success

The "Iron Dome" defense system once again successfully intercepted another Grad rocket that was fired at the city of Ashkelon from the Gaza Strip. This was the ninth such interception since the system was first implemented last Thursday.

The defense establishment are said to be very pleased with its operational efficiency so far. In related news, another rocket hit the outskirts of Ashkelon, while 4 mortar shells hit the Eshkol Regional Council community, causing serious damage to community buildings in the area. Luckily, there were no injuries.

Netanyahu: "We cannot protect every house"

On a tour of the site of the iron-dome anti-missile defense system near Ashkelon Sunday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called the new system an impressive technical achievement, noting its accomplishments in the past few days, though he did stress that the government cannot protect every house and facility in the state of Israel.

The prime minister reiterated that the state will continue to do a lot more, but there is a need for a combination of defensive and offensive measures. The prime minister concluded, that If the rockets continue to fall, the Israeli reaction will be much more severe."
